GEOSEA also serves as a platform for Presidents of Geological Societies in Southeast Asia to network and conduct a Business Meeting. Traditionally, the President of the Geological Society hosting GEOSEA chairs the Business Meeting. Since GEOSEA XI (2009), an account of the Business Meeting has been documented by the GEOSEA Secretariat based in the Geological Society of Malaysia, in conjunction with the GEOSEA host.
